It’s the end of an era as Harry Kalas, the longtime voice of the Phillies, passed away today. I can still vividly recall where I was on April 18, 1987, sitting in the passenger seat of the Volare on our way to pick up my mom at her seasonal job at the regional IRS headquarters in NE Philly… “Swing and a long drive, there it is, number 500! The career 500th home run for Michael Jack Schmidt!”
That call still gives me chills, but this one right here is the best 13 minutes of Harry Kalas ever: The last 3 outs of the 2008 World Series.
