I think she may have used a non-nutritive cereal varnish to improve her performance. Or possibly a non-caloric silicon-based kitchen lubricant creating a surface 500 times more slippery than any cooking oil to increase her speed. Either way, my little sister Lauren decided to exploit my stint on the injured reserve and presumably cheat her way to a new Rhuberg Record in the Broad Street Run. Last year I was kind enough not to embarrass her. Next year, no more Mr. Nice Guy. I’ll be going for the gold. Click on these thumbnails to see Lauren’s glamor shots from the race. [Philadelphia Broad Street Run]

I posted last year about the red-tailed hawks nesting on a building ledge at MIT. They’re at it again. Two chicks were born about a month ago and it looks like dad sticks around while mom goes off hunting. I recommend keeping the window open in the corner of your desktop all day so you don’t miss feeding time.

To quote Robert Goulet, “That’s why I come up here. Naaaaaatuure.”
